Reddit Sarcasm at its Finest: Guy Tells His Girlfriend She’s Gross for Not Shaving Her Legs, She Responds That She Will When He Does
In the age of the Internet, it's no surprise that some of the most popular platforms for discussion and debate are online forums. One of the most popular online forums is Reddit, which has become known for its user-generated content and diverse range of topics, especially Am I THe A$$hole subreddit.
While the subreddit is a goldmine of toxic relationships, every once in a while, an AITA question pops up that allows the users to bring their A-game, defending the world against sexist AHs with the finest of sarcastic replies.
Such was today's AITA thread when a fair-leg-haired lady turned to internet strangers to ask if she was being petty by telling her boyfriend she'd shave her legs when he does. This happened after he asked her for a razor, and when she said she'd never used one, he claimed leg hair was unhygienic, and she was gross and had to shave her legs.
In a world where women are constantly shamed for their appearance, OP decided to take a stand, which didn't go well with her (hopefully ex) boyfriend. This simple act of defiance has sparked a conversation about double standards and why women are expected to conform to unrealistic standards of beauty.
